Gouvernance




The Executive Committee is in charge of strategic and political orientations. 
It will be chaired by the President of the University of Lyon, and composed of representatives of : 
  • teaching, research and other institutions involved: Université de Lyon, UCBL, University Lyon 2, University Lyon 3, ENS Lyon, CNRS, Inserm, HCL and CLB
  • economic stakeholders: SMEs, such as Netris Pharma or Tollys, the RTRS foundation Synergie Lyon Cancer and the Canceropôle CLARA, the large competitiveness cluster LyonBiopôle. 
 
The Institut Francois Rabelais Director is a permanent member of the Executive Committee, and will participate in the votes if an equal majority is obtained to support or refute some of the strategic orientations of the PLAsCAN project. Careful attention will be paid to the equilibrium between the Call for proposals Convergences Labs PLAsCAN 2016 2nd wave Submission form 27 several actors, to perfectly fit with the 3 main pillars and objectives of the Institut Francois Rabelais: Research, Training and Economical Development. 
 
The Executive Committee will meet once a year. 
 
The assignments of the Executive Committee are: 
  • examine activity reports and Steering Committee proposals
  • propose research orientations; taking into account the local, regional and national environment
  • evaluate the activities of PLAsCAN according to predefined objectives (job creation, scientist’s invitations, training plans, partnerships...)
  • plan the budget on a yearly basis
  • facilitate the communication with the several institutions and structures involved. The Director may request an Executive Committee meeting whenever needed. 
 
The Steering Committee is in charge of the operational management of the Institut Convergence, and will be managed by the Director. This committee will be composed of the Director and the 3 leaders in specific disciplines, David Sarrut, Isabelle Krimm and Marc Billaud.
The steering committee will be supported in its scientific orientation by a prestigious, international Advisory Board composed of well-known scientists: Professors Bert Vogelstein (The John Hopkins, USA), Nicole le Douarin (Collège de France), Boris Shraiman (UCSB, USA), and Nikolas Rose (Oxford, UK) covering distinct expertise of the project (respectively cancer biology, plasticity, physics and HSS), have already been contacted to be part of this international SAB. The field of expertise of each of these members is strongly related to the interdisciplinary aspects of the PLAsCAN project. All of them have agreed to follow and carefully review the development of the PLAsCAN project and share their wise views.
